WebTIPS is a minimally invasive procedure performed through a small nick in the skin. A shunt is then created within the liver using a stent-graft to link the congested portal vein with one of the hepatic veins, which drain blood away from the liver. The stent-graft acts as a scaffold to support the connection between these two veins inside the liver.
