WebMay 8, 2012 · For our most accurate rifles we use a one inch dot. Sight in at fifty yards so that most of the group (5 -10 shots) falls in the lower half of the dot. This should put most of a group in the top half of a one inch dot at twenty-five yards. This gives a pretty good point blank range of around sixty yards. WebSep 11, 2013 · I would sight it in at 100 yards. Look up the ballistics on the rounds you choose to use. That will give you an idea of how you bullet will perform over or under that range. It think that you got good advice about mounting the scope. There is more to it than just screwing on the bases / rings and then sticking the scope on the rifle.
WebDec 30, 2016 · 22lr has a pretty straight trajectory but it loses steam at about 75 yards. The chart below has a 20, 25, and 30 yard zero. I would just zero at 25 yards. Most ranges you'll go to have this distance. You'll be within an inch and a half all the way from point blank to 75 yards. Very nifty chart. Highly compelling argument to zero for 20.
