[1] Biography [ edit] He was born into a distinguished clerical family — his father was Myers Danson, Dean of Aberdeen and Orkney — [2] on 14 June 1880 and educated at Trinity College, Glenalmond and Aberdeen University. Between 1958 and 1986 he was a curate, vicar and rector at various parishes in England, Scotland and the United States. He was Bishop of Edinburgh from 1986 and was elected Primus of the Scottish Episcopal Church in 1992.
